If you don't want to harm cats in a thought experiment, try this: Imagine you know a person who is light skin but easily tans dark, dark straight hair that can be permed into curly hair, and ambiguous facial features - and is willing to change appearance radically. You meet him while he is white, but shows you a picture showing him black. If you don't see him (and no third party tips you off) for 5 years, you can't know which way he is until you see him. Thus, during the separation, he is like the Shrodinger's Cat due to being a racially undecided person. You have a Schrodinger's Human!
